PM Urges Strengthening of Rail Safety System First

Kampot, June 6, 2024 – Prime Minister Hun Manet has instructed the Minister of Public Works to prioritize strengthening the railway safety system before proceeding with plans to develop a high-speed railway.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the multi-purpose port in Bokor city, Kampot province, the Prime Minister emphasized the government's commitment to improving rail safety and increasing train speeds from 60 to 80 kilometers per hour.

This directive underscores the importance of a robust and secure railway infrastructure as the foundation for future developments, including the anticipated high-speed rail project.
